Derby Ember opens with an unusual contrast of crisp apple and bergamot against bitter orange, cardamom, pink pepper and pimento. The fruit keeps the opening lively, while the spice prevents it from becoming overly bright or simple.

As the blend develops, Layton's lavender, violet and geranium bring an aromatic floral smoothness while Double Attack adds cinnamon and agave flower. This creates a bridge between Layton's polished aromatic character and Double Attack's warmer, more gourmand direction.

The drydown is where Derby Ember becomes richest. Vanilla, praline and patchouli from Layton meet Double Attack's dark chocolate, additional vanilla, sandalwood and vetiver. The resulting impression is creamy, woody and bittersweet, with chocolate adding depth rather than turning the fragrance into a straightforward dessert scent.

Layton is the brighter and more aromatic source fragrance, combining apple, bergamot and cardamom with lavender, violet and geranium over patchouli, vanilla, guaiac wood and praline.

The two authentic fragrances are independently combined by Bluegrass Fragrance Company. Each order is then hand-filled into a glass atomizer and carefully packaged for convenient application, storage, and travel.
